Lemonade Stand

Today is our neighborhood's annual garage sale. It is always a huge affair and there are usually little traffic jams where the best sales are. I wanted to get some things together to sell, but what it comes down to is that I haven't had the time to devote to gathering, sorting, pricing, and I don't want to devote the time to setting up, sitting, and being a cashier. I want to spend my time shopping. Today I bought two black dog food dishes for my Scottish/Jack Russell Terrier, 5 Hardy Boys Mysteries, and "The Chronicles of Narnia". All for $3.50. I can't wait for tomorrow

My boys, also, want to shop. However the younger one, Rocky, has no money for shopping, so I have devised a plan for him to make some money to spend on garage sale day.

Abby, Hillary, and Rocky selling lemonade from our fabulous lemonade stand.

Rocky turns 12 this summer, so I better take these kinds of moments while I can, because I don't know that they will extend much beyond this summer. So, what do you say; a nice cool glass of lemonade for 25 ¢? And please tell me all about your favorite garage sale finds!

Save me a lemonade....make it big and strong with lots of ice! It's worth a big tip! We can sip-n-dip together!

Okay Shawna, Come on down and lets sip and dip. I actually wrote this post last night and yesterday is when I bought the mentioned items. Today, at the big neighborhood event I bought a DVD player, a coffee table and 2 bar stools. I also bought a cheap plastic cup you get at some restaurants that has a lid...the lid being the key item. I have several of these types of cups, but no lids. They are perfect for filling with ice and soda to provide refreshment while lying out in the sunshine.

How did it go? I would say 50 cents per cup. If you lived by me I would give you fresh lemons off our tree and you could slice them up and put them on the rim of the lemonade cups...fancy!

Way to go on your garage sale finds! My best find at a garage sale is the little slide in our backyard--$10.

I got some Van Briggle pottery for $1 each. Van Briggle is a big deal here - kk, you went to the factory with me! i got 2 mugs and 3 cereal bowls. I use them every day.

I would pay $1 per cup if I could get a hug too.

I would pay for some Rocky Lemonade--that sounds good! I'd want a hug too, and I'd tip. ;-)

My best garage sale find was our kitchen table. $10. I love it. I love that when Lily accidently misses the paper with her not so washable Washable Markers, I smile and think "10 bucks, it'll fade, no biggie."

Lemonade in our neighborhood goes for a buck a cup, and I am stingy and only buy 1 cup for the kids to share.
