I've been tagged.

My sister, Robin, tagged me and said I had to copy the following rules and post 8 things about myself. I am trying to think of 8 interesting things. think, think, think...

Each player starts with 8 random facts/habits about themselves.* People who are tagged, write a blog post about their own 8 random things, and post these rules.* At the end of your post you need to tag 8 people and include their names.* Don’t forget to leave them a comment on their blog and tell them they’ve been tagged, and to come back and read your blog for the whole story.

8 Facts About Me:

1. FACT - I have a tooth on the left side of my mouth that has been giving me problems for at least 6 years. I first had a crown put on, didn't help, then a root canal, then a root canal on it's neighbor. That is kind of like slapping a boy across the face when his friend said something fresh...not helpful. Then I just decided to bear with it. Numerous x-rays show no cause for the pain, so I've decided to just deal with it.

2. OPINION - I think that people who leave their children in a hot car and the child dies, suffer enough without having to go to prison (unless maybe they are serial child neglectors and abusers). I don't think prison serves any purpose in punishing these people, I think that a better consequence would be they have to work on a child safety task force for several years or something like that. This is on my mind today because I just read about a woman who left her baby in the car and he died. So sad!

3. HABIT - I used to bite all of my fingernails until I was 30, then I bit none of them for about 8 years, and for the past two years I only have bitten my right thumbnail. Wierd, huh?

4. ANECDOTE - One of the funniest things I ever heard someone say at a party was, "Who knew my pig was barren?!" Just not a phrase I ever thought I'd hear in my lifetime.

5. CONFESSION - I am essentially a lazy person. This is why I don't really enjoy fixing things, or exercising. I would rather read a book. My idea of a perfect day does not include waking up at the crack of dawn and hiking a volcano or other equally majestic piece of scenery-rich nature. My perfect day begins after waking from a seriously happy and long delicious sleep. It also includes fresh fruit, sand, ocean, waves, Mexican food (preferably eaten outside, in Mexico), games, and family and friends. I would like to be the kind of person who would look forward to a nice run in the morning and a fun game of soccer or volleyball, in fact, I can picture myself doing those things. But as of yet, they are not a part of my perfect day, because as I said before, I am essentially a lazy person.

I wish I was here!

6. AMBITIONS - I dream of getting my pilot's liscense, getting certified in SCUBA, and running a marathon (this goes completely against my lazy nature). I also dream of traveling to all of the continents except Antarctica (which has zero draw for me). I dream of being a public speaker, like at a women's conference or something. I dream of writing a book (I can never get past the first chapter though). I dream of taking my kids to exotic locations and seeing exotic things, like going to excavations in Egypt, walking the great wall in China, hiking to ancient and hidden temples in India, and snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef.

7. FEAR - I am very afraid of spiders but try to hide it. I almost had my leg amputated when I was 20. I was bit on my left leg 3 times by a brown recluse and once on my right leg. I try very hard not to freak out when I see a spider. I am getting better.

I was going to post a picture of a brown recluse, (the demon spider that bit me 4 times) but when I googled it the pictures made me feel so oogey I had to use a cartoon spider picture.

8. WISDOM - Using a brillo pad to get splattered tar off your car works, but is not smart.

TA-DA!!! Eight marvelous tidbits of information about me! Probably no one cares but myself. A blog is such a "me monster" kind of thing. Especially this post. Oh well....

It makes me queasy just thinking about those huge chunks of flesh they had to remove from your legs and then the holes they left behind. I'd eternally freak out about spiders too.

Poor barren pig.

I'm lazy too. Maybe that's why we vacation together so well.
