Rocky is Twelve

Oh, my kids are growing up too fast! Rocky is twelve. He had his birthday this past week at scout camp. Bill was there and had a birthday cake for him and I had a gift for him to open. It was a great day I heard. Tomorrow he will be ordained a Deacon and receive the Aaronic Priesthood.


We have a family birthday tradition. Each year, on the night before my son's birthday they climb into my lap and I tell them the story of their birth, starting the day before I went into labor. This year I told Rocky his birth story the night before he left for camp. I can't believe my son is already twelve.


I love Rocky because he is so kind and genuine. I love his sensitivity and gentleness, and I love his sense of humor and his love of laughter. I love his responsibility, sometimes he gets on a cleaning roll and will vacuum, sweep, mop, clean the kitchen, wipe the counters, clean the entire bathroom and his bedroom. He is the only one of my boys who does such things. I also love his love of fun. He likes video games, but he loves to play, really play, outside, riding bikes, playing sports, swimming, snow boarding, doing adventurous things. I love this boy!!!
