Austin in the 200 freestyle swim.Austin competed in the District Swim Team competition about a week or so ago. It was a great day for him. He cut is time on the 200 freestyle by 5 seconds and his time on the 200 backstroke by 6 seconds. Huge improvements!!!
It was a great season, but I, for one am glad it is over. They had practice every weeknight for an hour and meets on Tuesdays that were about 4 hours long. This was our first introduction to swim team and it was a learning experience. I am so glad Austin did it and hope he continues swimming this year, off season, and that he tries out again next year.

Hooray for Austin. This is an awesome sport, and it would make his great grandpa Steimle happy that he is participating in it. Did you know cous Dave Blackburn was on swim team & took lots of prizes? Runs in the family!

Ann called last night and told me that a fine young man asked if he could join her art club. She didn't realize who Austin was until he introduced himself as MY nephew. She said all the girls are excited he is in the club and he has been playing the guitar for them! She said he is SOOO cute and such a nice boy.
Yeah, I found out he was in the art club because I read it on a text message. He takes his guitar to school everyday and plays in the hallway for money. On a good day he can make more than $10 at lunch, usually it's more like $2 - $3. Fun kid! I love him!
