Odds and Ends

It has been a crazy couple of months. I went to California for Christmas with the boys... it was glorious to be with family and in the sunshine. It does my heart good to be in the sunshine during the cold winter months. When I returned home I was laid off on my first day back to work. I have spent the past two and 1/2 months looking for a job. I have had a few interviews, but it hasn't gone further than that. Ug!

At the end of January I went back to California to spend time with my family and to celebrate my Grandma Steimle's 90th birthday party! It was wonderful and so much fun to be with so many fabulous people sharing and celebrating her amazing life!

LoRene Hawley Steimle...isn't she beautiful!

All of Grandma's relatives who were at Grandma's 90th Birthday Party.

I had a little scare with an MRI when the technician saw something he thought might be a small tumor, after a second MRI it turns out to be just a white spot, maybe a scar, deep in my cerebellum. The doctor doesn't know how it got there but thinks it could have been from a micro-stroke at some point in my life. My strange episodes of smelling wierd stinky things have decreased in frequency and intensity so we are holding off on an epilepsy diagnosis and will just wait to see how things play out.

In February I had an opportunity to go to a Motorcycle Show in Yakima, WA. Wow... that was interesting and deserves it's own post. I went with my dear friend, Carole, and we had a Scentsy booth there. We did fairly well and I got some good contacts and future customers from the trip.

These are some of my new contacts... I think they might want to be consultants. They seem to be good at selling things!

My boys are wonderful. Actually, Austin has been pretty sick. He had bronchitis and a bad ear infection. He missed some school and Wednesday was his first day back. I hope he can catch up on everything. Rocky is healthy and well and is getting very tired of homeschool. I have to remind myself that every year at this time school is a struggle for him...home or not.

Rocky in the mouth of the dragon at Santa Monica Pier. We had a great time!

Yesterday I got so sick of looking at the ugly black cover on my swimming pool that I just pulled it completely off. The pool has lots of leaves all over the bottom, but it is so much prettier now that I can see the blue and the sunlight reflecting off the water. It cheers me up.

This is what I'm waiting for! And no, that's not my behind...I was taking the picture.

Bring summer on! I'm waiting!

Thanks for your sweet comments on my blog. Your MRI results are scary to me although at this point I wish mine had given some answers. I wish the diagnosis process didn't take so long and raise more questions than answers.

It is nice to read another mom of teens blog. Maybe my son Jordan will make it to your town during his mission. He had dinner at your Mom's house.

I hope spring will bring you a job and many relaxing pool days.

I want it to be warm and to come swimming in your pool. ;-) This time of year I have to remind myself to start taking my allergy meds, and that spring is just around the corner, and that the sickness which is infecting everyone I know, will soon pass. ;-)

I'm relieved that your MRI results did not show a cancerous tumor. That was very scary, still is, but I'm glad of the diagnosis at this point compared to what it might have been.

I love you. I miss you.
