Woo Hoo - Butterfly

All my life I've wanted to be able to swim the Butterfly stroke, and all my life I have scared life-guards and nearby swimmers when I have tried. It is a hard stroke to learn!

Tonight - in a 3 hour class, I DID IT! I learned the Butterfly! I am so on cloud nine for this accomplishment. It was just so cool to finally get it. The timing, the breathing, the kicks, the stroke, it all came together. I'm not saying it was pretty, but I did it and the Master's Swim Coach who was teaching me was pleased and said she'd give it a "pass". I will be working on this a lot in days to come. And I know my shoulders will be dying tomorrow...

BUT I DID IT!!!!!
Later, in some other post I'll tell you about me and Michael Phelps...yeah, I know him. We're tight! That's why I used a picture of him in this post.

Proud of you! That is the most fun swim stroke. I'll race you this summer. You will win. I understand why you posted my Mike's photo instead of one of me, but really, you should have told everyone that I'm the reason you know Phelps.

How are you the reason I know Phelps? I met him in an airport before he ever made it to the Olympics. His picture was on the t.v. at the time, and when I told him that he was a great swimmer, he humbly said, "Thank you." And his manager said, "You just watch, you'll see him in the next olympics". This was about 3 years before the olympics.

So are the Olympics in YOUR future?:) Seriously...WAY TO GO!! What a thrill to work so hard at something and have your efforts pay off. You are motivating! What a great job at sticking to it. I always hope my kids will have the chance to REACH a goal they felt like GIVING UP on. It's empowering

Today, I conquered the Butterfly...bring it on.
