Alligators and Sharks

We recently took a 9 day trip to Florida. The blog about it would take forever, so I decided to blog through the pictures. Enjoy!

Rocky at Cocoa Beach. He spent almost 4 hours boogie boarding. He got out of the water once for food and water (and to re-apply sunscreen), and once because of the SHARKS!!!

Rocky riding the waves on his boogie board.

If you click on this picture you can enlarge it and see the sharks out in the water. They were circling something.

During the shark break, Rocky buried Austin in sand. I remember getting buried in sand once. Once was enough.

We saw this alligator on the golf coarse at the hotel. It was huge!

This is how we remembered where we parked at Universal Studios. Pretty smart, eh?

One day a thunderstorm came through, so I took the kids to Starbucks, we got caramel steamers (hot milk with caramel) and we played "Mini-Spoon-oh" and "Perudo".

Rocky is a master mini-spoon-oh player.

This was at Olive Garden one night. Austin is such a happy kid!

Krustyland is in the background of this picture from Universal Studios. Krustyland was our favorite ride.

Rocky wants a new hat. He tried on several options. He really wants a top hat though, and we couldn't find one. This is his "Rastafarian dude" look.

The Sorting hat put him in "Gryfinndor!" probably because he was brave enough to ride the Hulk and the Mummy rides!

This one is just kind of freaky.

Uncle Sam is in the house!

Another day we went to Clearwater Beach on the Gulf. It was beautiful. That is Rocky and Bill out there in the nice warm water.

They also built a sandcastle.

Austin spent a lot of time on the beach texting friends and getting a tan.

Rocky fell in love with the nice hotel bathrobes and thought he should be able to keep one. He wore it all night long every night.

Guess who's behind this is? No, not mine, I wish mine were that small. It's Rocky's.

This is the entrance to UNIVERSAL STUDIOS!

Um, this one is kinda out of order. This was us at the Boise Airport on our way to Florida. We got there at 5:00 am for our 6:00am flight. We boarded the plane, taxied out to the runway. Sat on the runway for 45 minutes while they tried to fix the "Navigational System Error". Came back to the terminal. Got off plane, went to new gate to get on new plane. Waited for 30 minutes, went back to old gate and old plane, waited 30 more minutes to re-board the plane, boarded and finally left the airport at 8:30 in the morning; 2 1/2 hours late. Of course we missed our Denver connection and had to wait for a new flight. Our flight from Denver boarded about 15 minutes late, taxied out to the runway, sat on the tarmac for 30 minutes while they tried to fix the "Navigational System Error", Bill and I just looked at each other across the 3 people separating us and shook our heads. When we got to Orlando, we got lost heading to the hotel. I was driving, Bill was navigating and he had his own little Navigational System Error. Bad start to the vacation, but the JW Marriott bumped us up to a better room because Bill shared the story with them when he checked in and they felt bad for us. We got a nice room overlooking the amazing pools with a lazy river connecting all of them. We could see the firepit, the sand volleyball court, the lake, and the golf course. And at night, we could see Disneyland's firework display. Yay for crappy travel days and the JW ,Marriott!

I loved this book. This is at Suessland in Islands of Adventure.

This is about 1/5th of the pool. Looking strait down from our balcony. You can see part of the lazy river and one of the pools and a pond.

This is another view from our balcony. You can see some of the pools, the volleyball court, a corner of the Spa, and the lake and golf course.

Well that is our pictorial trip. It was awesome. Our favorite things were, the beaches, the hotel pool, The Simpson's Ride (Krustyland), The Hulk Ride, The Mummy Ride, and RicSaw Falls ride.

I'm happy to be home and now I leave for girl's camp, while Bill and the boys hold down the fort.

Wow! What a fun trip! I can't believe the sharks in the water!!! Yikes! I also love the hat pictures. Your boys are so much fun.

Seeing Austin buried in the sand made me feel suddenly claustrophobic and I found myself wiggling my arms and legs without meaning to. Once in a lifetime might be one more time than I am up for.

Loved the pics, hope Girls Camp is wonderful!

Wow, you really can see the shark fins! Exciting and scary.

The view from your hotel is awesome...it's good that your horrible travel at least earned you that perk!

I love spoon-o and Perudo and I like how you always travel with games to play. It's a great quality.

Now for a girl's camp report, as soon as you are home!
